With the support of the country, Macao, the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and Zhuhai will jointly build the Centre for Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CSTCP). Operating with two centres in Macao and in Hengqin, the CSTCP will leverage the advantages of Macao, Zhuhai and Hengqin in technology research, market and policy to forge a complete technology industry chain. It will also actively bring in outstanding technology enterprises of Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) to settle in Hengqin in order to promote Macao’s economic diversification and deepen the development of the technology sectors in Macao, Hengqin and Zhuhai.
To advance the cooperation between the technology sectors of China and PSCs, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau has to date organized a number of events:
